I would need a dictionary handy, but I can read a bit in French, German and Spanish as I have studied those languages. French to A Level and the other two to GCSE.
Vietnamese is my mother-tounge language so basically anything written in English is the ‘other language’ to me. I tend to read slice-of-life novels and stories in English because the words are quite straightforward and easy to understand. Currently I am in love with “Wonder” of R. J. Palacio

I read the new releases from American and English writers in English, my favorite novels in French, and only a few books in my own language because I’m not interested in translations anymore…
thing is, the stronger your 2nd or 3rd language gets, the more you notice how badly translated things can be because a lot of the nuances get lost in translation 🙁 or they translate too childish. It happened with hp in my native language, where it sounded like a book for 5 year olds when in reality the english one is a lot more “mature” for a 10 year old and up.
I only speak English and Spanish, so any book I am interested in and is written or translated into either language, I will read.
I read in English, Malay, French and Spanish.

I wanne read more dutch since it’s my first language but for a while now I’ve only ever read english because the translations can be really bad ^^

@Heleen en soms zo friggin kinderlijk vertaald. Alsof onze kinderen van 8 dommer zijn dan kinderen van de us of de uk :s

I hope to be able to one day. I can read the titles. Pronunciation is not a problem. It is the translation.
Dutch and English. When I was still in high school I also read in German and French.
