I had this exact question recently! She has so many to choose from. I used this article to start my to-read Agatha Christie stack: https://www.theguardian.com/books/2009/sep/15/top-10-agatha-christie-novels

Someone told me she wrote at least 75. If that’s true, then I’ll be hard pressed on where to start! Thank you for this list, I found it very helpful

And Then There Were None, Murder on the Orient Express, Death on the Nile, The Murder of Roger Ackroyd. Just for starters. 🙂

when anyone asks me, I always recommend And Then There Were None, her book to which I had the strongest response. But the list above is full of great mysteries

This is what I’m doing, slowly, right now. I read a lot of Christie at about 12, but not all and I have no idea which ones.

Body in the Library is an underappreciated Ms. Marple gem.

The Tuppence and Tommy books are really fun if you are looking for lighter fare.

I Love Tommy & Tuppence! In order, for these, because they aged in real time, unlike Poirot or Miss Marple

I have read all of the Poirot short stories. I prefer Poirot over Miss Marple. There is a wonderful book which has all of the Poirot short stories.

Murder at the Vicarage
The Hollow
The Murder of Roger Ackroyd
The Mysterious Affair at Styles
Murder on the Orient Express
Ackroyd and Orient Express are especially fine examples of her plotting ability and cleverness.

SInce a new movie version of Murder on the Orient Express is due out, you might want to start with that one.

The Mysterious Affair at Styles

The Mysterious Affair at Styles? That was my first Agatha Christie. The ABC Murders is one of my favorites.

Kat

It doesn’t really matter. They’re all fun, and terribly dated.

All of them-she is my favorite author! My absolute favorite is And Then There Were None. Other favorites are The Murder of Roger Ackroyd, Murder on the Orient Express, Peril at End House, The Thirteen Problems, A Murder is Announced, Sparkling Cyanide, Endless Night, and The A.B.C Murders.
