@James I never tire of Hemingway, again visited his home in Key West a few months ago. The Nick Adams Stories are good to pick up and read at random.

@James I plan on reading more Hemingway next year too

@Evelyn/ @Sean I have been reading Hemingway on and off for many years. Around October time I always check Goodreads to see how I am doing on an author. Although generally as a rule I don’t aim to read each book by every author all the time, but, when I saw I had only a few books left, I thought “what the heck” 🙂

Evelyn

@James I do that, I find a favorite author and find all I can about them and their writing.

@Evelyn love visiting there. I visit his Key West house every time I go.

I’d like to read all of the National Book Award shortlist for this year (excepting nonfiction). I’ve put quite a few of them on my Amazon wish list hoping that friends and family will take the hint.

“À la recherche du temps perdu, vol.6 , Albertine disparue – La fugitive” by Marcel Camus – in a very good Portuguese translation by Pedro Tamen. I’ve already read the previous ones and can’t wait to read this next one ?

I have so many Amazon and Barnes and Noble and small independent book store gift cards I decided to buy some books today as well as buy some gift cards for some folks.

Just ordered The Fifth Risk by Michael Lewis, after listening to him on both NPR and BBC radio discussing how every day folks and even some politicians who lack any expert knowledge often try and tell the actual experts they know better.

Reclaiming Conversation: The Power of Talk in a Digital Age by Sherry Turkle. Anne Lamott’s new book Almost Everything: Notes on Hope.

Why Religion?: A Personal Story by Elaine Pagels. A neuro psychiatrist friend gave me her earlier books back around 1992.

All of Beatrix Potters books for a baby gift and all of the C S Lewis Narnia books for a family whose kids LOVE to read.

And The Lost Words by Robert Macfarlane which I believe any logophile or bibliophile would love. Had been reading it at a bookstore :-/ and figured I would be honest and buy it. 🙂
