Did you also read Back Home by the same author? It’s also set during WW2 and absolutely wonderful. Please give it a go if you haven’t as I highly recommend it ?

Charlotte’s Web. My mom read it to us as kids, and it’s what made me fall in love with reading. It’s still my favorite book to this day.

Alice in wonderland and Alice through the looking glass. My grandmother gave them to me and they inspired my creative imagination and allowed me to dream of magical places through hard times

I have two girls, now 17 and 20. It doesn’t matter what you read, just so you read. My ex-husband use to read Poe when they were babies. My 17 year old loved Shakespeare – which is horrible to read every night, lol – but now she still loves his works. My oldest will read everything!
