My granddaughter introduced me to The Hunger Games I enjoyed all of them. Plus I watched the movies with her. Watched them 3 times already.

I really liked it . It’s no 1984 or brave New world, but it is a Creative and world building dystopian novel. however slow, until it hits half of act 2? Book 2 was much more organic.

Great story – nothing like life or death to provide the tension.

Just curious why didn’t you like them?

Why?

I haven’t read them but have no desire to. I don’t read dystopian type books as they hold no interest for me. I guess I equate them to the bad memory in high school (early 1970’s) of being forced to read “George Orwell’s 1984”. I hated reading it but was forced to for an english class. Feel same way about sci-fi thanks to “Asimov’s Illustrated Man”.

The statements are word-weaving but the ending or final verdict is a ludicrous mischief

I liked it and generally recommend both the first book and the trilogy to anyone who enjoys good dystopia.

If you read the first one, you have to read the last two as well. Good books if you like that sort of story. For me, the writing was a little discordant to read, but not bad once I adjusted to it.

It was good, but I have since read much better dystopian novels since. Mostly The Long Walk.
