heard so many good things about it and I wanted to like it so badly ? but I’ve tried reading three of Marie Lu’s book and did not like or finish any of them… I think her writing style is just not for me. I seem to be in the minority though

Very strong start and really liked it. Once a love interest was introduced it went downhill really quickly though, the main character went from strong to having depend on others, which was something I really didn’t like. I’m doubting if I should pick up the second book.

I got a major heartbreak about this one. The revealations and plot twsist are great. Well, Marie will get you feel strongly attached to the scene and you thought that’s how it goes then suddenly everything goes unexpected. I liked it. So much. That I can’t help to buy the sequel.

There were things I liked and things I didn’t like. I’m a gamer, so I liked that aspect of it. I’m also fascinated with Japan, so I liked the characters and the setting. Parts of the story were good. Other parts were slow. Once she had a love interest the MC weakened considerably and it was as if she lost her skills due to it. I’d read it once.
