Holy CRAP. There is a whole page of fans who love the series! I love the books! They are inspiring to me because of the strong female lead. The world is awesome and it takes you to really neat lands. It definitely keeps you on your toes. I also love her other series A Court of Thorns and Roses.

I would highly recommend Kristin Cashore’s Graceling instead.

@Kat YES. So much better than SJM. I felt like I was reading a poor copy of Graceling when I started it ?

Absolutely love it. The first two books aren’t the best but I really began to love it at book 3, luckily the first 2 are short.

So you mean. We should read assassins blade on 4th

I just started and i was thinking to read. Assasian first.

Tika

That’s just how I’d recommend. I’ve said before but if I’d read Assassin’s Blade first then I probably wouldn’t have continued. Assassins Blade was published later on.

Tika

It is a prequel, but I felt I cared more about reading about her past once I knew her if that makes sense.

Leigh

Actually the novellas of Assassin Blade were published before ToG. And even Sarah says to read it first.

0
Tika

They weren’t published until early 2014, a few months before HoF. ToG was 2012 and CoM was 2013.

Leigh

According to the wiki they were published in 2012

Even amazon says 2012

I know a lot of people love them, but I’m going to be honest. Read the first two and wasn’t a fan. Didn’t find the characters to be believable as they were described, and both books were too slow for my tastes. Maas is very overhyped in my opinion.

Couldn’t stand it. Droll writing, stereotype characters, so many guys in love with the (extremely selfish, bitchy) main character… I can’t understand the hype at ALL ?

Many, MANY better books and series out there.

Not as good as ACOTAR but gets better the more you read. And she does bring it all together by the end. Even though I didn’t like the first book, I was so impressed when u found the author was a teenager when she wrote it! If you take that into account, it’s downright phenomenal.

AMAZING!! ??? Better and better with every book! The main character is super inspiring and tough but at the same time SJM does a great job at humanizing her and giving her a full and complex personality! I loved her in the first book but she just gets better and better as the series goes on. Same for the other characters! And so much great action! Both series by SJM are fantastic
