Does it have a lot of good books? Not just the “unknown authors”? That’s what im running into right now. Which I like reading new things but I have my favorites too..

Ashley

Yes there are a lot of free books. And if you have an amazon account you can buy books and have them on the app to read

I love actual books too. However, with moving I can’t take all my books with me.

I read on my phone on the go always, I have it loaded with Audiobooks, PDF’s and E-books, I’m always ready to read whenever or whatever I’m doing, I don’t waste time, I also take some notes for each book.

My library dumped Hoopla due to cost last month. I am heart broken

1
Annette

@Brycen , Oh no!!. Well my library reduced my check out limit from 10 to 5 items a month. That hurt. Maybe my library is looking to eliminate it all together also. Hopefully not but I’ll be watching closely.

1
Brycen

@Annette I hear the library pays $2 each time you check out an item. So that is $10 every month for 5 items. The problem is that all the stuff I wanted to read was on Hoopla.

1
Annette

Bummer. I see why they reduced items from 10 to 5. Does your library use Overdrive? I belong to two different county library systems. They both have Overdrive but only one has Hoopla also. I read most of my library books on Overdrive, I mostly do audio books on Hoopla and read a few books there every now and then.

Brycen

We still have Overdrive and One Click Digital.

Jeannie

Our library pays a ton of money for Hoopla, Overdrive and Freegal, but our patrons love it, so we keep it. Sometimes it’s frustrating to me because I want a hard copy but all we have are ebook copies! They are cheaper than real books.

Both. Kindle is an ereader you can purchase and download books to and you can also download the Kindle app on your phone, tablet or computer.

oh, is the name of tht app is just kindle or amazon kindle? I looked for it before and found amazon kindle

0
Annette

It’s Kindle which is associated with Amazon. There are different models of Kindle. You download the books from Amazon after purchasing them. If you have the “Kindle” app on your phone, tablet or computer, you can purchase the books from Amazon and download them to those devices.

It makes life more convenient. Forexample: there is a facebook app, an app for the calendar, a calculator app and so on.
