Yes, I do like it. The Jane Hawk books are not like his other books, more intense and serious with fewer quirky characters and less humor. Still I love his writing style and will read all that come out in this series. Have you read it?
@Khalid Yes I do. I’m not very far into it but immediately liked it. A friend finished it last night and said she couldn’t put it down –stayed up late to finish it.
Finishing First Daughter about Jefferson’s daughter, Martha Jefferson Randolph. Have two waiting for me at the library: Hillary’s book What Happened and See What I Have Done (about Lizzie Borden). Hmm, just now seeing a pattern here. Also need to read The Risen for book club next week; luckily it’s only 250 pages. But I’m feeling the pressure.
I’ve read about 8 to 10 books this year, my favorite series being the Gone series, though I don’t like the sequel series, and my favorite one book was Gone Bad by J. B. Turner. I’m a bookish, brainy book-dragon!!
At the moment I am re-reading an old favourite, The Pillow Book of Sei Shonagon. it is a fascinating book by a lady in waiting to the empress of Japan, written about a thousand years ago. Shonagon had strong views on a lot of things, and her opinions and observations are highly enjoyable.
I’m reading Homegoing by Yaa Gyasi and it’s very good so far! I just finished listening to The Handmaids Tale.
LOL! Just finished handmaids and now I am reading Homegoing. I am loving it!
