The Straw King by Danielle Paige, Before We Were Yours by Lisa Wingate, and The Name of the Wind by Patrick Rothfuss. I like to rotate at least 3 different stories at a time lol. The name of the wind and before we were yours are amazing!
i got tge suggestion from goodreads. it won the goodreads choice award. i heard a lot about the book, ” pachinko”. you can try that also. haven’t read it though
@Nancy me too..i have taken classes multiple times starting at the cuff finishing with the toe. I took a class called toe up..the teacher made me feel stupid so didnt go back for the 2nd class. I havent gone back to the knitting store..miss going on Sunday afternoons to knit. Maybe in time.
@Nancy wish we lived near each other.. I’m so sorry your teacher made you feel that way. That’s awful. I live in NY and Pennsylvania. I go between 2 places because I watch my granddaughter on the weekends
@Nancy i used to belong to a bookclub and we all knitted or crocheted. The leader was awesome..great discussions and she made something to eat that represented the book. Sad, but the bookstore closed and lost touch.
@Nancy i belong to a mystery book club now and we meet next at Barnes n Noble. Im thinking about starting a silent bookclub chapter in Plano..have to get my act together.
I’m in between books . I was reading the outlander seeing. Currently on voyager but took a break because it’s kind of boring. So I’m reading Gerald’s game now.
It was a very different book for me. A little hard to follow at the beginning, but the more I read, the more intrigued I became. I think it was well worth the read for me as it was about lives very different from my own.
I just got this out of the library. Along with 10 others. And made a list of 11 other books I want to read. (I realty don’t have time to go to work with all this reading!) ❤️?
I’ve got several going but I put them aside to read Stephen King’s “Joyland.” I love it but I’m so ridiculously sad that it’s only taken me two days to finish, why couldn’t it be as long as the stand or insomnia?
I’ve had on my kindle for ages but never been tempted to read it, didn’t expect it to be good as it’s not part of her usual series. Only just started, but so far so good
This book has been wrecking me! I thought I would get through it in quick order, but I have to keep putting it down because of the emotional upheaval it causes (which it should, IMO).
For me, that makes it a brilliant book—if it can evoke that kind of emotion.
@Michelle I know exactly what you mean! After the first 100 pages I was like ” ouch gotta put it down for a little bit to clear my head to be able continue again” xD
I’ll Be Gone Before Dark by MIchelle McNamara. I completely relate to the whole idea of falling down a rabbit hole of obsession over something (I just don’t tend to do it over serial killers).
Just finished it. Felt it picked up half way through but the ending was a bit rushed. No conclusions for a lot of characters and generally a bit “meh”. Gave it 3/5 on goodreads which is the lowest score I give unless I truly hate a book. I wouldn’t recommend it to others unfortunately.
I just finished “the kind worth killing” by Peter Swanson. Such a good book, not a who done it but a who didn’t do it. So much fun with a cool ending. Also Big Sexy Love, by Kirsty Greenwood. It was so funny, a quick, fun read.

@Nancy wish we lived near each other.. I’m so sorry your teacher made you feel that way. That’s awful. I live in NY and Pennsylvania. I go between 2 places because I watch my granddaughter on the weekends
I wish I had the time and patience to learn to knit. I tried to crochet but it didn’t work out to well.
@Nancy i used to belong to a bookclub and we all knitted or crocheted. The leader was awesome..great discussions and she made something to eat that represented the book. Sad, but the bookstore closed and lost touch.
