I’m a huge fan of print, but nothing beats Kindle to read in bed or to carry around.

Also, I sync it with the app on my phone so I’m never without a book.

I always travel with my kindle. Easy to read at night and in low light if you have a paperwhite, oasis, or the other one (Sorry can’t remember the name). I also buy a lot of discounted books when they go on sale.

Agree with @Tamela, there are so many free books! Plus no need of bookmarks, easy to carry, can read in whichever font size, can read while eating (one of my favorite things about kindle. Because holding a book open is kinda difficult while eating!)

I use IPad for mine, but also got loads of physical books. Always going on at me to read and get them to a charity shop. He’s also a reader and I take up the most space. Most of his books are at his mum’s.

Hahaha!! Yesss!! ? Gift card? What gift card? I didn’t buy books with it…… ?

Less bulky than a book and if you come across a word you donโ€™t know, if you press on it, it will give you a definition

Having to carry only one device instead of multiple books (especially on vacation).

The light helps to read at night – I usually pass out with a book and it’s better to do it with the Kindle than passing out with a light on.

My libraries have lots of ebooks so I can check stuff out anywhere instead of having to go to the actual library. Not that I don’t like going, but sometimes I don’t have the time or don’t feel like taking the bus/train to go.

Easier to take notes/highlight since it creates a log for you.

All those books on one small device…. I have a nice leather cover for mine. My library has tons of kindle books I can download from my couch?

I prefer real books, however when I am traveling, the Kindle is lighter than packing all those books…. it is also nice when reading at night, so I do use both

I debated for a long time but I now love my Kindle. It’s so convenient and has really helped the size of my book library (LOL). It’s also very nice to be able to download books for .99 cents or free. I like it so much that I will be releasing a collection of my Flash Fiction via Kindle in a week or two.

Itโ€™s slimmer and lighter than a paperback (or hardcover). Great for carrying to appointments and comfortable to read at home too. I also like reading โ€œrealโ€ books. I alternate.

For me…it’s small and light and I can slip it into my purse and take it everywhere with me. I spend a lot of time waiting in the car for my kids to be done with their practices so I read.

So many reasons. Adjustable font, built in back light, no dusting required and I have over 400 books with me at all times…..

Okay. I’ll list a few advantages and disadvantages:

Disadvantages:
– You cannot lend a book to someone else. Some say there is a way, but it is probably not available for all books.
– if you books from Amazon, you only really buy your access to those books. If you lose your account or Amazon turns everything off, your books will be stranded on your Kindle.

– Most of the books you buy are only available for your account. So you can’t really make a back up of them and read them, for example, with a PDF reader or something similar. There are workarounds or course.
– you don’t get to have a nice physical bookshelf of books.

Advantages:
– books are a tap away from you.
– if you have the Paperwhite, which I recommend, you also have lighting. You can make it super bright or super dim. I never need to set the lighting to 20. I keep it at 5 in complete darkness. Perhaps 6. You don’t need it in a lit room.
– Reading on it is very similar to reading a book. It doesn’t strain the eye. It does not compare to a phone or tablet. It’s incredible.
– you have all the books you’ve bought with you all the time
– battery lasts pretty long. A whole day, theoretically. That is if you really read 24/7 with some light on. Otherwise I charge it like one a week or once every two weeks.
– it’s very light and it’s very easy to find a comfortable position to read
– dictionaries. Tap a word, and you know what it means. If you’re connected to WiFi, you even get definitions from Wikipedia.
– x-ray feature: tap on the name of the character, and if the creator of the e-book did a good job, you’ll get information about that character.
– Many other settings you have there. Like changing the font size, knowing how much time you have left in the current chapter or book. Also how much you’ve read of the book in pages or percent.

I wrote this on my phone, over like a half an hour. So if some things don’t make sense, I’m sorry in advance.

But all in all, I love it. I’d even dare say I love reading on my Kindle more than reading a paper book.

I have a different e-reader a Nook by Barnes and Noble. You can carry hundres of books in one small device. Easy to read in the dark. You can pre-order books and they download on publication date. When you buy a book it’s downloaded in seconds. You can adjust the font and spacing for easy reading. The list goes on.

Get one of the cheapo Fire HD models, and you can use Text to Speech with most books. You don’t have to pay for Audible, but can still listen to a book when you can’t look at the screen. I use it often while doing dishes or cleaning in general. Built in backlight is nice, the blue light filter is good for night reading so you don’t get wired and stay up all night thanks to the screen. Also takes up much less space than my lifetime library of physical books.

Built in dictionary, adjustable font, notes area, lightweight, stores hundreds of books. And if you are out and about all day on public transport it is so much easier to carry around than a big hardcover

You can buy stuff from Amazon. Downside: You can only buy stuff from Amazon, and no where else. Google play apps aren’t compatible.

Very convenient to carry with me and fits in my purse without taking up any room – no worry about ruffling pages. Convenient for nighttime reading, reading while waiting in line at drive-thru or car line, dr. apts., traffic jams, boring sporting events, etc.

All of the above, plus you can play games, download music and movies, take photos. I wouldn’t be without mine, You can get a great deal on them at the moment. I would recommend choosing a 16gb or bigger if you want to store movies though. There is also a setting in the book section to change the backscreen to green or yellow. Apparently, this is really helpful if you have dyslexia as it helps you to concentrate on the words easier.

I don’t have one except amazon kindle on Android but one girl who met me in book store told me she had one. It was helpful to have kindle since her room was already full books she hated giving them out so with kindle she could store. In case of books one day your room is getting to get full and you have to give away old books to create place for new books

If you go in your library on kindle, you can see all your books so you donโ€™t duplicate like with a paperback. It also prevents you from buying a second copy on your device. Portable

If you haven’t, google reviews and go to a local electronics store that sells them to get a feel for the device.
