What are some good contemporary fiction you can recommend? I just finished reading ‘Eleanor Oliphant is Completely Fine’ by Gail Honeyman. I’m finding it very hard to move on to the next book because it was so good. Thanks in advance.

It took me a while to get over Eleanor! I started three different books and gave up on all of them. I read the Storied Life of AJ Fikry and liked it a lot.

I also like Jodi Picoult. In fact, I have already red almost all of her books except ‘The Song of the Humpback Whale’ such a great writer.

That was exactly the way I felt about EOICF! I started A Gentleman in Moscow afterwards, and it’s really good, but I just miss Eleanor.

I just finished Eleanor and was also missing her instantly. I have moved on to A Little Life by Hanya Yanagihara. It is not light, but wonderfully written , can’t put it down.

Wow. Those two books are quite different from one another. A Little Life is a long, emotional journey.

I enjoyed Eleanor a lot. Where’d You Go Bernadette reminded me of Eleanor a little bit. The book I’ve liked the most since Eleanor is The Nix by Nathan Hill.

I read Britt-Marie Was Here right after Eleanor. Both were great but Britt was my favorite.

I highly recommend “THE FUTURES” by Anna Pitoniak. It’s one of the best novels I’ve read this year. ? (I say that as someone who is not a great fan of contemporary fiction.)

I listened to the audible of Elinor O. Everyday I kept wanting to hear Raymond ‘s Scottish accent continuing to talk to Elinor! I went on to The Wife Between Us… That was good too, but I still miss Raymond

The narrator was really great. I’m not sure I would have liked the print version of this book as much.

Agreed – the audio version was fantastic. My commute isn’t the same without it.

I loved Love Walked In by Marisa de los Santos and anything by Alice Hoffman, Jodi Picoult and Anita Shreve. Their historical fiction is good too ?
