The Enchanted Forest Chronicles by Patricia C. Wrede. Wizard’s Hall or The Devil’s Arithmetic by Jane Yolen. I was reading Xanth by Piers Anthony at that age. Magic Kingdom of Landover by Terry Brooks. I’m guessing she’s already read Harry Potter, LOTR, and The Indian in the Cupboard by Lynn Reid Banks? You could try her on Pendragon by Stephen R. Lawhead or Ender by Orson Scott Card. Most of Anne McCaffery is good.

The Isis trilogy by Monica Hughes. This is an older series, but I read it when I was 10 and it is still one of my favourites.

O.R. Melling’s Chronicles of Faerie are good young adult books, about two cousins in Ireland who become entangled in the land of the faerie. Covers a lot of folklore and mythology without being dull.

T.A. Barron’s The Ancient One is another fantastic book for that age that I highly recommend.

Can I suggest my own? It’s about dragons and I was a teenager when I wrote it (technically still am) so I think you’re good.
