Paperback since it’s cheaper. But sometimes I’m drawn to hardcovers because of the beautiful designs.

Depends, if I haven’t read the book, then whichever is available. And then I’ll buy the Hardcover for re-reading:P

I prefer hardcover—they fall open nicely for eating while you read, plus, they look pretty on the shelf and model so beautifully for Bookstagram ???

It doesn’t matter to me. A book is a book no matter how I get it.

I like both but for some reason I have a hard time keeping paperback in good condition so I try and get hardback when I can. I have a mixture of both.

I don’t like dust jackets on hard covers

I prefer paperback because they are smaller and lighter, easier to hold with one hand. Fit better into my purse/bag. They have a slight give when I hug them. ? But seriously.

I always buy paperbacks. Hard covers are just more expensive and big. Haha. And the jacket gets annoying.

I prefer hardcovers, but I’ve many paperbacks. I have to say that many of them are very difficult for me to read, with my aging eyes. One thing that drives me to limited editions of some books is that they tend to have larger print–and it’s better printed, too.

I much prefer hard cover over paperback. I don’t mind the trade paperback, is that what they are called? The ones that are about the same size as hardcover? But, I do not like standard sized paperbacks.

You are correct, the trade paperback is the larger one. The smaller ones are called mass market paperbacks.

Both! Also sometimes depends on how I want to spend my book money. Some authors I will automatically buy their books in hardcover. Others I will wait for the paperback (or buy the hardcover when it’s remaindered at Barnes and Noble. Fun to pick up the hardcover when it costs less than the current paperback.)

I like paperbacks because they fit in a handbag, some hardbacks can to but there’s always the temptation to use them as a weapon.(:

I love the look of hardback. But for ease of reading and coat effectiveness, I much prefer paperbacks. With most hardcover being 20 to 30 dollars, I can’t get 2 to 3 paperbacks for that price.

I try to wait for certain authors in paperback. Paperbacks are cheaper, more books can fit on shelves. If I can hardcovers cheaper at the thrift store.
