Wolf by Wolf by Ryan Graudin is amazing! It’s an alternate history where Hitler wins World War 2! Front Lines by Michael Grant is another alternate World War 2 history where girls are allowed to enlist in the military!
The King’s Rose was really good, but super sad. About one of Henry VIII’s wives. There’s also a trilogy called the Stolen Empire series about Catherine the Great. It reminded me a lot of the show Reign. It was really good.
Ancient History: Esther Friener’s Princesses of Myth series, Cleopatra’s Moon by Vicky Alvear Shecter. Also any books by Carolyn Meyer or Stephanie Dray. These authors have been recommended to me but I haven’t been able to read them yet: Michelle Moran, Kate Quinn, Stephanie Thorton, and Karen Harper. The Princess of Egypt Must Die by Stephanie Dray is a great short story that’s free on Kindle.
Other: The His Fair Assassin trilogy by Robin LaFevers is awesome but it’s more of a historical fantasy, The Help by Kathryn Stockett, A Countess Below Stairs by Eva Ibbotson.
I haven’t read it but A Great and Terrible Beauty is supposed to be a good one.
It’s AMAZING!!
I don’t know if I would call it historical fiction though. It’s very much fantasy.
That’s true. It is in the past, but it’s definitely fantasy
Abraham Lincoln Vampire Hunter is great. It’s fairly historically accurate aside from the vampires. I enjoyed it.
Everything by Cat Winters! And the Something Strange and Deadly series by Susan Dennard!
Code Name Verity by Elizabeth Wein! It’s one of my favorites!

Airman by Eoin Colfer(:

Daughter of Time by Sarah Woodbury. It is free on kindle and the prequel to a series. This book is how I fell in love with Wales!
