I read the series after Twilight. I was in such a vampire reading phase at the time. I believe this was before the movies came out. I enjoyed twilight, but vampire Academy was so REFRESHING. Rose is such a refreshing main character. I’m not spoiling much when I say this- but it was great that she didn’t mind getting her nails dirty- but was also a bad ass. She could be both feminine, and brutal when the need was called for it
ahaha that’s a nice way of redeeming that mess of a book. I actually saw the show True Blood for a while, but the entire hype around it just killed it for me. like…when I see vampire I just get turned off.
I’m very into horror, fantasy and sometimes mystery/thriller books. I’m willing to give vampires a chance but not if it’s for young adults or teens. perhaps Anne Rice or any other author with a more complete grasp of it, you know what I mean?

Rose’s character, as well as all the others but especially Rose, matured SO WELL, while retaining the core of what made her who she was. Also, the love stories within the series were in no way cliche or overdone. They were always just right with their timing. Richelle Mead knows how to keep her readers hooked and knows how to make her readers absolutely fall in love with every character, good or bad. I literally aspire to be like Rose Hathaway. She is one of the most inspirational characters, and for sure my favorite female character, in any book or series. Bloodlines is also an amazing series ?? I could go on about Richelle Mead and her books for days, but the last thing I’m going to mention is that Mead truly knows how to mix several different plot lines together and have them all turn out beautifully in the end.
Have you read the VA 10TH Anniversary Edition? It has like short stories set in the VA world with the VA characters, and it’s so beautiful and perfect ??
Im currently reading the series as we speak. Im up to book 2 Frostbite and im very curious to how these books play out. 🙂 if you like fantasy/ vampire than yes you will like it but just dont watch the movie its a cringefeast. Just bad. :/ but anyway enjoy. 🙂

NO. It was so borring… I fell asleep around the 3th book, I realy thought it was extremely borring and still don’t get why everybody loves it so much…
Because they have different taste in books than you do and that’s perfectly okay 🙂 not everyone will like what you like. It’s all about diversity.

Yea I know, the black dagger brotherhood is a long series but they have a lot of different abilities and is an interesting twist on the genre.
