Definitely paperwhite, you will be able to read in the dark

That’s what my friend said but I’m having SUCH a hard time paying $100 for a reader!
the advantage is having a back light. I have a kindle voyage and i love it.

Can you read the Paperwhite in bright sunlight?
Yes
You can switch off the light and it becomes like the basic kindle so you get the best of both worlds with the paperwhite
I have the regular Kindle and definitely recommend getting the Paperwhite if you can. Resolution will be better and you can read in the dark.

Paperwhite is better because its screen doesn’t produce blue light, while other regular tablets do. The worst enemies of reading from an electronic device is the blue light effect!

Paperwhite. I had used the ‘original’ Kindle and finally got the Paperwhite. It is smaller, easier to use, and the lighting is wonderful.

Paperwhite. You can read in the sun and in the dark and don’t have the glare of a tablet screen.
I asked this at Christmas, overwhelming majority said paperwhite. I had an original kindle and the paperwhite is a different class.

Paperwhite, hands down. Buy cheaper, buy twice! An item like that, you want to get the best out of it. I’m never going to relinquish hard copy books, a lifetime with them and there really is no substitute for me, but a Paperwhite comes very close and storage-wise wins. The difference in reading on a Paperwhite and tablet is hugely different, it’s top lit, not back-lit and thus anti glare and easier on the eyes.

No contest. Paperwhite is the way to go. Had mine nearly 4 years and love it. I use it regularly. Will buy another one if this one ever gives up. xx

I have a very old kindle which I love. Had a lovely surprise present of a paperwhite.

I had an original kindle, nice, but my current paperwhite is better ! Great for trips away, no heavy books to carry?
I have the paperwhite and love it. If you have audio books, this will not play them.

I have a Voyage, very happy about it.
I had the Fire but ended up buying the Paperwhite and I love it.
i have both, but prefer the Paperwhite as I can read at night without having to have the light on because of the back light. Great in bright sunlight as well. I use it extensively for travelling, so much easier on the eyes, I wear glasses as well. No problem. Go for it and enjoy!
Between my tablets where I read Kindle books, first is my iPad, then my iPhone, my Amazon Fire, my Nexus 7 and finally, but rarely, my second generation Kindle.

Kindle paper white, I had regular and it was a pain when I tried to read at night without waking my husband. Also, plane rides! I tried to convince myself a booklight would work but it was a huge pain.

I’ve got a regular Kindle with a cover with an integrated light that works off the battery. When it eventually dies, I will buy myself a Paperwhite – my husband has one and it’s great!
Having always been very ambivalent towards the Kindle’s virtues, I am a total convert now I have my Paperwhite. It’s great for night reading – doesn’t even disturb my husband who insists on a pitch-black bedroom before going to sleep.

Ordinary, then buy a Kandle II light. It’s unobtrusive and if it breaks just buy another for about £10 – Also, reading in bed, it’s easy to hold to read normal books
