Not my favorite Murakami book, but I felt it is very tightly planned and things do make sense in the end. It does not “move” very fast, but I felt there is a certain subtle charm with the slow pace.

No it was a total failure. After reading the whole thing just a few pages from the end you realise there’s no way the things that have happened can get explained and they aren’t – the ending is an amateurish cop-out
I slogged through it, hoping it would get better, but it didn’t!
It’s long and can get repetitive but I really liked it. If you like Murakami’s writing you’ll probably enjoy it.
One of the few ” other worldliness” novels I have enjoyed.
