Personally, I love everything Flynn writes.
Gone girl isn’t my favorite of hers, but it is a good book. So continue please, it will be an interesting roller coaster.

I watched the movie before reading the book so that ruined it for me, but it’s still a really good book. I also love her other books, disregarding the bad grammar I’ve picked up in a good few ?. Actually Gone Girl is the best edited one.

I enjoyed it quite a bit. Once you hit the middle of the book, in my opinion, it starts to pick up a lot. In no way are you meant to like either main characters but if you do that’s alright. Just know that you’ll get frustrated with them as the book continues – its supposed to be that way. I loved the ending and if you have seen the film, the cinematography is beautiful but does not do the book justice. Happy reading! I hope you enjoy it!

I, personally, hated it. However, I couldn’t put it down, and the fact that it was able to bring out such a strong reaction says a lot about the writer.

I loved it. But I hated Sharp Objects. Those are the only two books of hers that I’ve read, so I need to read more before I can form an opinion of her writing as a whole. ?

I didn’t like the last 1/3. The writing changed dramatically and felt like it was written by a different author

It’s so awesome that the main character will piss you off, make you sad, angry and make you lose your mind all in one sitting.

My unpopular vote is Gillian Flynn is overrated. Her books are predictable.
That being said, I can’t get enough of whatever it is going on in her dark, twisted mind.
I’d still say- keep reading.
P.S. The audio version was amazing!

It’s really messed up. It takes a while to seem like a thriller. It’s not the greatest book, but it’s worth the read.

Kristin

It depends. If you’re still on the first few pages, I’d say to continue. However, if you’ve spent 30 mins or so reading and hate the writing style, I’d suggest moving on to something more up your alley.

I thought it was fine. The majority of reviewers enjoy it. However, that doesn’t mean there aren’t books out there that you’d enjoy much more.
