I first read it as a teenager. I have read it several times since. To me if it the story of the many young families trying to survive in Nazi Germany.

It’s such a great book. Well written. Reading it feels like your the little girl yourself. At the end, her story makes you feel grateful of living in a peace society.

It was a tough read for me. But still worth the read at least for me. I was a teenage girl when I read it but I was proud of myself for finishing it but won’t read it again I think

It bothered me when I found out they edited it & took out her thoughts on boys, sex, her period, etc. Is there an unedited version out now? I would re-read if there was a version that left her words as she wrote them

I didn’t realize that had happened! That’s enlightening. Sad.

There are several complete editions. Try the Everyman Library volume.

I think it’s a must read for girls or woman to be honest, I’m so glad my mother recommended it to me, my older copy was falling apart because I reread it so many times so I went to the Anne Frank house again last year to buy a new one and an empty one for myself 🙂

It is an important book and you should read it. I had the privilege of visiting the secret annex when we were in Amsterdam. So very moving.

I was young when I read this book. I’m sure it was the first time I understood that good and evil exist in the lives of children, and realized happy endings are not always possible.

I think it wouldn’t hurt for everyone to read it. Puts perspective on their situation especially for younger audiences.

I read it as a young girl, but it made a deep impression on me. It may have instilled a depth of compassion I never would have had otherwise.
