A Storm of Swords by George RR Martin – This will always be my plot twist answer. It’s been three years since I’ve read The Red Wedding, and I still haven’t recovered. Probably never will. ~sigh~ No plot twist I’ve read before or since comes close to this one for me.
When I read The Red Wedding I was sitting in my car, having lunch. I was caught so off guard that I almost couldn’t breathe for a minute! And I was worthless at work for the rest of the day…
I can believe it! I had to read it three times before I was convinced I had read it correctly.
