Yes great reads; heartbreaking and will make you hug your kids tighter. Has anyone ever read the book his brother wrote? It’s called “a brother’s journey”.
Haha I read it when I was around your age; I’m in my late 20’s now and just had a baby, and that book has always stayed with me. Don’t understand how people can abuse their children. I had the opportunity to see Dave Pelzer speak; he is an incredibly resilient and optimistic person for all he went through.
I’ve only read the first one and it is so heartbreaking to know that he actually went all through that. I’ve followed his interviews ever since.. He’s such an awesome man! ..and congrats for your lil one? ?
I read both in high school but I felt that I was more invested in a child called it but they were both good. I never read the last one. And I didn’t know the Brother wrote one too.
@Tehreem I’ve actually never read a man named Dave but I know the first two go in sequence and I’ve heard a man named Dave is the final book to the three. Do you know the story behind him already?
The other 2 just gave you hope that such brutal treatment of a child doesn’t mean the child’s life is over. The fact that he pushed through to become a Man Named Dave made them worth reading. His life was by no stretch easy after the first book but he made it.
Yes there amazing
Yes all of them are great. I read them years ago and kept them in my collection

They are very good Books
