Hated it, worst book I ever read. Writing was completely unreadable in the last 50 pages. The story was interesting but the book was the worst for me. Just don’t understand how anyone could call it well written.
In what way was it beautiful? Page after page describing vomit? Or the last 50 pages which consisted of incoherent babble with no sentence structure? What I am missing here.
I find that whatever I read of hers I am immediately “there “ . Not all of the situations /topics are beautiful in themselves -as in all good books/life, vomit being a perfect example,but for me her writing is so detailed and precise that it doesn’t matter I can still describe it as beautiful
I am happy for you, glad you got something out of it. I am really struggling to understand though. I couldn’t even tell you how it ended because the last 50 pages were just rambling words. I keep thinking its a big joke people are playing on me, saying they like this book. It was so bad, poorly written, boring, not even remotely plausible and the characters were so awful. I’ll stop, guess it is beyond me, sorry…
@Cassiek there’s been a few books like that for me too – lots of people raving about them and me thinking- I don’t get it, what am I missing lol. We’re all different
I’m currently reading it.. it’s very wordy.. I had to just go with it the first 20 pages or so and then I decided I really liked it. It’s a challenging read for me.. but something about it has got me wanting to read it more and more!
YAY!! One of my favorites…very long but such a rich story…I started reading it & about 200 pages in I thought I’d never finish, I just read at night-so I got the audio book & WOW! Literally the best reader-I could not stop listening! The story is just so interesting…give it a try

I loved parts…really challenging ending but I was determined to finish.
I thought it was a wondeful book.
It was not my favorite but it was a good book. Very lengthy and in my opinion could of been about 400 pages shorter

It was the worst book I ever read…I slogged through about half of it and couldn’t read anymore.
I loved it although I found some of the drug stuff really depressing. Found all the art and furniture info fascinating.
