Read the book before the film and glad I did. I enjoyed it more than I thought I would, but had trouble finding any empathy for the main character – which was only natural when you consider the ending I suppose.

The main reason I didn’t like it was that the three main female characters were all too similar – and they weren’t friends so there was no excuse for it.

Yes I see what you mean. The acting though of the main character was good.

Didn’t like that much the first time I read book but it might have been all the hype around it at the time. But I read Paula Hawkins second book into the the the water and loved it so read full on the train. She does have a certain way of writing with lots of characters intertwined.

The movie was great, the movie not so much. Just the fact that they changed the setting from London to New York really put me off

2
Reply
Josephine

I think the change in setting took a lot away from the story and atmosphere and why the characters are like they are. That was a disappointment about the film.
