Read them all & was majorly creeped out by them since they’re all about child abuse, incest & murder….

I didn’t like it, I read the first one and figured that was enough. Didn’t care for the subject matter. Don’t like reading about children being mistreated.

I read it as an adult, and I loved it. After Flowers, I read every single one.

Loved the first book but found each subsequent book to diminish in quality.

I read it in college- at age 20 ish. I enjoyed it then. At age 63, I don’t know if I would like it. It’s pretty bizarre!

I didn’t read it, but saw the movie. Creeped me out. Of course I was like 11 at the time… lol. I’m not sure it’s something I would “enjoy”, though I think I could handle it better now as an adult than I did as a kid watching the movie.

The 80s movie or remake?

You have to decide for yourself. Years ago I read Flowers in the Attic. That’s the only one I read. Did not want to read anything else. Could not handle the child abuse and trauma those kids had to endure.

what happens to this poor family is heartwrenching, it’s a great drama and full of pain and hard to read but if you can dish it out it’s really a great story. I only read the first one through and that was a LONG time ago. I don’t know why I never went on to the rest though I’ve read My Sweet Audrina (which is a standalone) and most of the Ruby series. It’s good, just brace yourself.

I liked them, but I like reading about messed up stuff. There is a series of movies also. They’re kind of cheesy, but I watched them anyway.

Dark and heartbreaking in a twisted, perverse way. And yet, strangely addictive at the same time.

Read them years ago, they’ve stuck in my brain as I’d never read anything quite like them before. Give them a go x

I read it a long time ago and was addicted. It reminds me of a soap opera since there’s so much going on. I suggest you read flowers in the attic and see how you like it.

You need to read the whole series!!! My absolute favorite ❤ I loved the characters and got so close to them that when I read the last book I couldn’t deal with the fact that’s it’s over ????? just start it and decide for yourself if it’s something you like or not! 🙂

If like Gothic romance or fiction you’ll like it but v.c Andrews always has weird abusive incest related plot lines so naturally most teen girls I knew in the 80s and 90s read them all for the sex scenes lol. The movie with Louise Fletcher is hilarious.

I read them and thought they were interesting. No offense to victims of incest, but I did not find the incest in the book shocking or upsetting considering the situation.

I like books that tend to lift you up at some point. Not just drag you through the muck of the darker side of humanity with no chance for a reprieve.
