The print of a new book and the age of old book pages and the feel of the paper and binding ? bliss. I have been known to just inhale the smell of a new book before I read it, my partner thought it a bit odd but then I explained that to me it’s like him hearing the turbo chatter of an Audi Quattro rally car, now he understands totally lol. So no I don’t think it’s just you or odd at all

Not at all! The feel the smell the sight of books makes my heart race! Makes me feel like first love Everytime! Makes me feel ecstatic! So you are perfectly normal…if not more than perfectly normal!
Oh and another thing that I haven’t really noticed but my husband has is that I apparently start drooling at the sight of books…he says I look literally like a dog who has seen a mountain of bones or meat or something.
