@Chelsey there 5 books , I’be only read the original one but I’ve just reread it as I’m reading the whole set as we speak. It’s very funny , I really enjoyed the first one, half way through book 2 so hopefully the whole series remains good fun.

@Chelsey how are you finding persuasion? I’ve been working through Austen this year.

I know of Pride and Prejudice from watching the 1995 British tv series with Colin Firth and Jennifer Ehle and I know of Sense and Sensibility from watching the 1995 movie with Alan Rickman, Emma Thompson, and Kate Winslet. I like those two shows A LOT and have seen them both multiple times. Persuasion will be the first Jane Austen book I actually read. Id say so far, the phrasing of her sentences is something Im having to adjust to as at times I find myself reading a sentence and not clearly visualizing what she is saying so I have to back up and reread parts and or may have to look up a word in the dictionary but its not not often nor much of a hindrance to do so. Im on chapter 6 and am not overly happy about Lady Russel interfering with Annes love life. I like that Annes father’s overspending threatens him to be deeply in debt and poor yet he maintains a snobby demeanor. Haha.

Did Hemingway suffer from depression? He had a very tragic death.

Yes, you can read tragedies in his books. I love The Sun Also Rises.

According to reports I’ve read, he shot himself to death with a double barrel shot gun.
