The book club next selection Beach Music by Pat Conroy. Has anyone read it? Any reviews of it?
The book club selection for February for one of my book clubs is Beach Music by Pat Conroy. Has anyone read it? Any good or bad reviews of it? I’m just curious if it’s worth my time.
I have! I loved it! But it is Pat Conroy after all❤

Definitely worth your time……but then, I’d say that about any of Pat Conroy’s books.

I’m not a Pat Conroy fan. If you are, you will probably enjoy this book. I put it back on the shelf unfinished.
I normally would scroll past if I only have something negative to say, but you asked for good and bad.
I really appreciate it. I’ve never read anything by him before. I know he’s a well known author so there’s always positive things but I always like knowing the negative too.
Then you must read his other works…The Great Santini is my favorite but Prince of Tides is a close second. His writing is profoundly brilliant! But then maybe I’m partial because I am also a Southerner.
I also found him to be an outstanding writer. His words flow so beautifully. I’ve read everything of his.

My favorite is The Lords of Discipline. I have loved all of his books.

Ive read all of Conroy’s books. This is not only my favorite, but includes my favorite book quote, “Mother told us words are pretty, byt watch what a person does…”
I once met Conroy, quoted this and he told me Beach Music was his favorite book.

Prince of Tides. The Great Santini which is also a really good movie.
I enjoyed the book and my favorite of his is “The Prince of Tides,” just such a good book.
