Another good choice. I enjoyed this one – she is such a good writer.

Yes her writing is beautiful! It was hard for me to get through some of her autobiography because it is very sad, but she has been such an inspiration to me.

If you were abused as a child, be aware that these books are extremely triggering. I can’t read them.

2
Brittany

Yes I’m sorry I should have said something. They could definitely be a trigger for someone who was abused. I’m so sorry if you went through anything like he did.

Brittany Ary-Davis, I finally had to make it off limits even as a book report book for my students as I couldn’t grade them – too triggering. Thank you for your kind words. My life is pretty amazing now. I feel like books saved my life.

@Catherine well I’m happy to hear your life is better. It is so inspirational to hear when people make it out of hard situations.

Memoirs of a Geisha is pure fiction…

@Siri Really? I thought the writer interviewed the woman and recorded their conversations

0
Siri

@Raylene Nope–that was just part of the story, to make the reader feel as if it were real.

I prefer biographies, but at least the main character doesn’t die in an autobiography. =)
Autobiography of Benjamin Franklin
Against All Odds by Chuck Norris
Fighting Blind by Jim DeFelice
Confessions of a Sociopath, by M.E. Thomas -it gets boring as it goes along, but that’s actually her point.
