paperback definition from https://en.wikipedia.org/
A paperback, also known as a softcover or softback, is a type of book characterized by a thick paper or paperboard cover, and often held together with glue rather than stitches or staples. In contrast, hardcover or hardback books are bound with cardboard covered with cloth.

A Paperback is a book with literally a paper cover. ?
They are cheaper and easier to hold/carry/etc but they also are much more likely to get ruined.

By the time I’m done reading a paperback novel, the poor book looks sorry for having spent any time with me. I’m hard on them.

They’re way cheaper, easier to hold and easier to carry around with you. ☺

Smaller, usually easier to carry around.

they don’t run out of batteries. OTOH, you can’t snuggle under your blanket & read at 4 am unless you have a flashlight, & that’s awkward.

Here are a few fine examples. “The Hunter” was first published in paperback and, due to its popularity, was published several times after in hardback. The Executioner books are only published in paperback.

Maybe not, I’m ashamed of my questions sometimes so I say it’s a joke. But really, it isn’t. @Chhorady I don’t mean anything. Just talking about myself.

nah I feel very uncomfortable when people stare at me, I’m shy and anti social, I only talk to people if I need to
I only know 12 people in the school and there’s like 700 students that never talk to or know me

@Chhorady, oh sweetie my nephew is the same way. The only ones he accepts and loves hugs from is his mom, grandma and me. He just graduated from high school. My younger son used to be painfully shy till he was 2.5 years old. He is still a little shy. But staying very shy in my family is nearly impossible. All that matters is that you’re happy.

Until I was 17 I was painfully shy. I had about 10 people outside of my family I would talk with without feeling put on the spot and akward. As i got older I could speak to more & more people so that I now will speak with almost anybody. It’s only superficiality though. I still have my handful of people that knows me better than most. It is a freeing feeling when you realize you do not need to be in the middle of that many people. You just need a couple of true friends. So sounds to me like you’re perfect.

@Chhorady hey… I am sorry if I was rude. My son is also slightly anti social but it gets easier as you get older. He just started university with a bunch of like minded computer / gaming nerds and therefore for the first time due to the work load and needing help he has had to make friends. Hope things work for you x

@Vicky nah it’s okay
It wasn’t

@Chhorady Two things: How old are you? I’m 13 and last year, I invited lonely, new or bullied students to sit on the bench with me. Today, we need three benches. I call us the losers club. But they don’t know it. I wasn’t shy, but I doubted myself and was bullied by many. You can do the same, you’ll find very easy to make a group of friends. That might not be the case but it’s close.
