It took me over 100 pages to start enjoying it. once i got past those first 100 pages I really enjoyed it. The 2nd book in the series I loved and the 3rd one i DNF’d. I dunno how far you are into it but if you aren’t at least past the first 100 pages I say keep going. if you’re further then that it might just not be for you. 🙂

0

@Amy I liked them all but I agree that the 3rd one had a few faults. I thought the court scenes were great and most things concerning Lisbeth but I thought there were a couple of needless subplots. Overall I loved all 3 though.

You really need to get through at least half the book before it gets good. The first half is a lot of character building and plot that really drags on. Once you get past that it gets really good

I liked it but the writing style was clunky and overly factual, given that it was written by a journalist trying his hand at fiction. I would recommend finishing though because despite the sometimes dry and clunky stylings of the work, the story does get really interesting and makes some great points about the treatment of women in Sweden.

I loved it. Could not put it down, and then devoured the other two Stieg Larsson books as well. I have not read the David Lagercrantz ones, and have mixed feelings about these, but will probably read at least one of them at some time. Loved the depth of the storyline, and the suspense.

The beginning half is a lot of backstory/business/family history that becomes important but it also makes it hard to get into. But man, once the story picks up, it’s great! All the other books in the series do not take long to get going, just this first one. Lisbeth is one of my favorite literary characters ever.
