Loved this book!! I binge read it. I’ll never look at a marsh in the same way and the description of falling leaves is beautiful
I liked the beginning, thought the middle of the book got bogged down, but really liked the last of the book.
Read on the recommendations from this group. Liked the character development, but the premise that an abandoned 10 year old would survive the Carolina backwater and become an acclaimed technical naturalist was unrealistic.
Read Educated by Tara Westover, a memoir of a child who had no support from family yet went on to be educated st Csmbridge

I read Educated several months ago. It wasn’t a favorite either.
