Don’t read it as a story. Read it as a diary of a very special friendship. And as an opportunity to learn about something most of us know nothing about.
My favorite book of 2016 ! Writing is poetic and beautiful. The prologue was so beautiful it made me teary eyed. Her stories are funny and the content fascinating.
I struggled through it. It was just “meh” for me. What was sad & shocking was how little money is available for the sciences. Guess I shouldn’t have been so surprised. ?
I heard her talk at a book store signing and thought the book sounded like it would be a good read. The author wasA great speaker. Thankfully, I did not buy the book but reserved it at the library. I usually read to 1/4 -1/3 of A book before giving up. It was disjointed to me.
I really enjoyed this. And my club had a great discussion. But like all other books, each one appeals to different people.
I enjoyed it.
It does! I loved it by the end!
Thanks
I really liked it . What aren’t you liking? ( is that even gramatical?)
Just started it and I’m having a hard time finding the story
Its as much a relationship/friendship story as anything, and you learn a better appreciation of plants along the way.

@Beverly ?thanks
It is a memoir, so it isn’t a straight forward story – more incidents that add up to a story.
It’s on my TBR list. I heard it is good.
I really enjoyed it.

I did not enjoy it at all…it was a struggle
Did you finish it or give up
@Mary I finished it, it was for a Book Club so I forced myself
@Elizabeth same here
I like the writing and the subject.
I abandoned it but need to pick it up again
I gave up on it….tried to like it.
How far into the book

How far are you into it? Life’s too short to read a book you’re not enjoying!
@Gail so true but it’s for my book club does this come with cliff notes?
If it’s for my book club…I chunk through a book I’m not liking….just skip stuff I find annoying.
Good luck!
@Gail thanks ?
Gave up the first time, but glad I went back and finished.
I listened to it and enjoyed it. A nurse in our book group LOVED it.
Loved the premise, but i struggled with the writing.
That’s where I’m at
