No, very self indulgent indeed. I’m amazed it did as well as it did, and I certainly didn’t bother with the movie…wish I hadn’t bothered finishing the book either! There’s a few hours of my life I’ll never get back…!

My theory about this book is that you have to have been through something like she’s been through to get it. Otherwise I do think it feels self-indulgent. I loved it because I could relate to it.

It resonated with me .. depends on where you are in life maybe .. I was struggling some when I read it and I got a lot out of it.
