I’m going to have to think about this question, Paula. This year was one of my best ever reading years. I’ll post after I’ve had time to ponder it (without the grandgirls here and a big ballgame on tap today). I’d love to hear everyone else’s choices, too. How about you, Paula? What were yours? I think we might have to extend the number beyond five.

I’ve read those five, too, and they are great reads. At least one will be in my list.

Great list Kathy…there are several on my TBR list. But the real question begs to be asked: How the hell did you find time to read 100 books?? 😀 xx

LOL, Paula! The major impetus for my reading this year was attending Bouchercon 2013 and reading authors who were also attending. It resulted in several series being read and many new authors. 2013 was a fantastic reading year for me.

I can’t pick just 5 books either! My highlights this year include:
1. The Hunger Games Trilogy by Suzanne Collins
2. The Crossfire Series by Sylvia Day
3. Songs of the Humpback Whale by Jodi Picoult
4. The Immortal series by Alma Katsu

I want to read some more Picoult books. I’ve read 3 or 4 and really enjoyed those. I have a few more around here that I want to get to. I need to catch up on the Immortal series, too, Tracy. I’ve only read the first one, but I have the second one here waiting.

I’ve pre-ordered the 3rd book, @Kathy, and it’s on it’s way 🙂 I’m a big fan of Picoult. I’ve got Picture Perfect but haven’t got round to reading it yet. Humpback Whale was excellent although I found the first 100 pages or so hard to get into and I almost put it down. It’s a story told from 5 people’s different perspectives. Once I got into though it really grabbed me.

The different character perspectives seem to be her signature. My fave is My Sister’s Keeper, followed by The Pact.

As it happens, Paula and Tracy, I’ve read My Sister’s Keeper, The Pact, and Nineteen Minutes. I think of the three The Pact is my favorite, although Nineteen Minutes is right there with it. My Sister’s Keeper is after those two. I guess I’ve only read three. I need to get cracking.

Have either of you seen the movie based on My Sister’s Keeper?

Yes, Paula, I’ve seen it. They changed the ending completely.

They changed a lot of things. One of the worst movies EVER! I find it hard to believe Ms. Picoult was ok with that :/

Yeah, it was not a good movie or adaptation at all!

Complete waste of a good story. Same thing happened with I Am Legend *smh*

I haven’t seen the film, I know a lot of people said it was great but being a Picoult fan I know I’d be very disappointed.
