I loved it!!! It is in 3 parts and it took reading almost all of the first to get the “what the eff” moment. I read it 1 year ago and I still think about it often ?
Like many mediocre books, the idea starts off great and then Meh. I wish writers could work out their story plans better. My friend Tami writes best sellers, her story lines look like the mapping for the London bus/underground trains.
Nooooooooo. I had to force myself to keep reading it and even that didn’t work. I stopped reading about 100 or so pages in. Over a year later I borrowed the audiobook from the library and that was equally painful and awful. I ended up skipping A LOT to skim the last few pages to see how it ends. I gave my book to my bff. There were zero redeemable characters. I found it extremely irritating to feel sorry for rich entitled people thinking they are poor. She, I think her name was Amy, was particularly awful.
It kept you turning pages, but there was only one halfway likeable character in the whole book, and the ending made me hate having spent my time on it. I’ve never read another Gillian Flynn and don’t plan to, after that.
I totally agree with what you said in the beginning but I think you should try either of her others, Sharp Objects and Dark Places, I enjoyed each thoroughly!
I liked GG, but it is honestly not the best thriller I ever read. In my opinion, he was hyped up much more than it deserved. I found it difficult to like any of the characters. That being said, it is a great read. If it hasn’t already been spoiled for you, you will have quite a few OMG moments.
@Schultz imho, I felt the author ‘threw in the towel’, for lack of a better term, I was all about this book, loved it..then BOOM total disappointment :’c(
It is a very intense book. A psychological thriller that delves into the mind of a sociopath. Worth the read but it will stay with you long after you turn the last page. I did not like any of the characters but found it more interesting as a case study….
LOVED IT!
I DNF’ed it about 100 pages in.
It is really slow! I didn’t get into until only 1/3rd left in the book
It is a good book. Give it a shot.
Great book. Lots of twists and turns. If you start it and lose interest, keep reading because there will be a plot twist just around the corner.
Eh. There’s so much more out there

Check is out from the library if you are unsure about whether you want to get your own copy.
It was spooky good
I really enjoyed it
I liked it. But it got so much hype. I just love the author.
I liked the book, except the ending really pissed me off lol. The movie was horrible.
Amazing! Definitely worth the read
Naah. Was very disappointed
Meh, it wasn’t so great for me. I say find another thriller! Just my opinion though, it has lots of good ratings.
I think i gave it 2 stars.
Weird book
One of my favorites.. Movie is just as good
Like many mediocre books, the idea starts off great and then Meh. I wish writers could work out their story plans better. My friend Tami writes best sellers, her story lines look like the mapping for the London bus/underground trains.
I hated it
@Dana me too!
Ugh. Love hate relationship with that book.
I do recommend it tho
I have not read it yet but my boyfriend – and can be picky – loved it. I just haven’t gotten to it yet.
I liked it. The movie was good, too. I don’t think it’s one of those books I could read more than once but I did like it.
I loved it!
I liked it a lot. Just starts slow.
Really liked it.
Nope! Evil characters crossed over into cartoonish.
I liked it
I loved the movie…if that…helps at all?
I enjoyed it. If you can handle the two “protagonists” being completely unlikable people the whole way through, it’s worth a read. Lol
It is very intriguing….go ahead.
Very good.

Loved it, in a weird and twisted way!
I loved it and the movie too!
Great read

Are the major characters anyone you can give a flip about?
@Janet yes, interesting characters
I absolutely loved it! Movie too!

I can’t even begin to tell you how much I disliked this book
@Anna why
@Cecilia okay True! But it started of really nice!
@Schultz imho, I felt the author ‘threw in the towel’, for lack of a better term, I was all about this book, loved it..then BOOM total disappointment :’c(
@Cecilia true!
@Schultz I agree but I only forced myself to finish it b/c I was so far in. I liked her other two much better, like down to the last punctuation!
@Cecilia what are the names of her other books?
@Schultz Sharp Objects and Dark Places….
The characters were awful and the story was so bad. It actually made me angry.
Ehh..didn’t love it. Her others I read were fantastic imho (Sharp Objects & Dark Places)
Overhyped.
loved it!
didn’t finish it.
Loved it.
Good book!
Loved it.
I like the book but loved the movie
Liked the book. Crazy
I finished it. A lot of people loved it a very popular book. I thought it was ok.
I read the “look inside” on Amazon and… I also wasn’t sure about it.
It was good but not amazing like I expected.
I will be honest, I hated it. The characters were NOT likable!
Good read
Didn’t even finish it. That’s really rare for me.
couldn’t get into it at all
Didn’t care enough about any of the characters to read any more than half the text. Completely over-rated.
Nah.
The main characters are absolutely awful, but it was a good read. I really liked this book.

I liked it a lot but the movie was not worth the watch lol ?
Liked it ??
crap
I liked it?
