The Gavin/Dazen stuff messed with my head for sure! It was different than any Brent Weeks book I’ve read in the sense that this one had a lot more political intrigue and was building up to the next book but didn’t have as much action as his others. I can’t wait for the next one. This reminded me of A Feast of Crows, kinda the calm after the storm.

Definitely. Though the difference was enjoyable. I also think Dazen can draft white and just doesn’t know it. The black luxin reveal was epic and kind boggling.

I agree, and I love the progression of Kip. I think he is one of the best written characters of all time.

It’ll be interesting to see what Kip does when he truly believes in himself. Though one book hardly seems to be enough to cover everything

I hope this series turns into a 10 book epic. I could just keep reading

He’s trying to finish it in 5. Which is possible but hopefully it’d longer than book 4 was.

It had better be a 1200 pager… There is a lot left to tell. He hasn’t even scratched the surface on the 200 outcasts of Orhalom (or whatever they are called). I personally believe that he needs at least 2 more.

But I have faith, Brent Weeks is, hands down, my favorite author.

I agree. Patrick was mine for a while but Weeks is slightly better to me.

I’d Rothfus would finish that series I might reevaluate my ranking. We’ll see…

I hadn’t really considered that. Hmm

Also does the Blinders knife suck those out of Dazen too? Did he ever have them to start with?

I’m at the point with Dazen that I just assume that everything I think I know is probably wrong. 😉

Don’t blame ya there, throw in the 200 and Orhlam and any things possible.

I think he did a great job, I feel like there’s so much left to tell. I’m very curious to see how he’ll wrap it up in 5 books, I think there should be more, though maybe he’ll time jump like Sanderson with Mistborn. I just finished the “Night Angel” series, and felt like he left a bunch of things open. I’m hoping that he goes back to that world too and gives us a few books to answer some of my questions there. He wrapped up the story for many of the characters, but not the magic and the artifacts. We’ll just have to wait and see what he concludes and what he leaves open.
