I believe it was originally a short story and later fleshed out into a novel- but not sure. Anyway, it is incredible. The movie “Awakenings” is so reminiscent of the book.

I read this in high school and it took me forever to get through. Don’t get me wrong it was a great book, but it was hard to get into.

Loved that book! Read it after seeing the movie adaptation, Charley, which was also great with Cliff Robertson.

Never heard of it. Every time I start a classic, I give up. Unless I’m reading it for school, and have my professor help explain it.

I remember reading it. It affected me so deeply. There’s a movie “Charly” based on the book. 1968 film starring Cliff Robertson who won the Oscar for his portrayal.

I didn’t know it was considered a classic. I read it last year and have never been ao disappointed by a book. I thought it had such good potential but at the end was cold and emotionless. One of my least favorite books.
