I believe it was originally a short story and later fleshed out into a novel- but not sure. Anyway, it is incredible. The movie “Awakenings” is so reminiscent of the book.
I remember reading it. It affected me so deeply. There’s a movie “Charly” based on the book. 1968 film starring Cliff Robertson who won the Oscar for his portrayal.
I didn’t know it was considered a classic. I read it last year and have never been ao disappointed by a book. I thought it had such good potential but at the end was cold and emotionless. One of my least favorite books.
It’s so good. I read it in school.
I just never bothered, read it in like 4 hours. What an amazing read.
That is a Grab A Tissue book. So good.

I read this in high school and it took me forever to get through. Don’t get me wrong it was a great book, but it was hard to get into.
Very cleverly written and touching to the core!
Loved that book! Read it after seeing the movie adaptation, Charley, which was also great with Cliff Robertson.
Now that’s an oldie
Never heard of it. Every time I start a classic, I give up. Unless I’m reading it for school, and have my professor help explain it.
I read that as a required in High school very good but sad. I stay away from sad books now.
Wonderful but sad,very sad
I LOVE that book. Super sad but so insightful and intriguing. Definitely something people should read.
Good read.
