So I am finally jumping on the Red Queen band wagon! Is it as good as I hear? Or should I not waste my time?

I loved the whole series.
Even though I only made it through the first book (though I’d like to try the series again!) Maven is great
F
Its bad
I made it through the first two but dnf the 3rd I just couldnt get into it
The first one was good, I didn’t finish after the second, I got bored
It’s awful. Don’t waste your time. Just jump ship now.
Dont do it! The last book ruined it!
I loved the series.
I loved the first one, close to a 5 star for me. But books 2 and 3 fell to only about 3 star so i havent felt the pull to read the final book yet. I will eventually.
Only made it through cause I listened to it.
@Tiffany I’m trying to finish War Storm and it’s so boring that I got the audible hoping it would help me at least finish the series.
That’s how I was able to read then too. Or else I wouldn’t of read them!
I loved the first, and then had to DNF the second. There was basically no character development and it bugged the crap out of me. There are only so many times the MC can make the exact same mistakes, ya know?
Ive only read the first book there defiently way better books out there. Its basically a worse version of A Throne of Glass.
I really gave it a fair chance but no, it’s just not a good series. The character development is poor.
I enjoyed it but it wasnt riveting.
You’ll either love it, or you’ll hate it. There’s no in between
I loved it but haven’t read any further in the series…. kind of wish I hadn’t seen some of the reviews of the next ones in series if I’m honest.
Selling all my copies. Waste of $$ and time, IMO.
I agree! I liked the first two ok then downhill from there! The last one was a complete waste of time!
@Loralee DNF and not planning on it. but to each their own so good luck ?
Barbie Espinal same!
Well I guess that’s a big”No” from everyone
Didn’t finish the first one. Found it too unbelievable (too many coincidences) and hated the main character immediately.
I personally didn’t like this book but some did. So my advice for you is to give it a try so that you can have your own opinion about it
People truly hate on this series. It is beyond me why because I’ve read the books myself at least three times. It’s my favorite series and Victoria Aveyard is my favorite author. Her writing craft is just incredible. But at the end of the day it can never hurt to try.
It sucks i guess try it because everyone is different but I hope you don’t regret wasting your time like I did
It was alright. I read it as a summer right after it came out. I knew there was going to be a second one but I wasn’t interested much. I ended up giving it to a friend who stuck the series out but wasn’t too happy with the end of the final book. I would recommend buying something awesome with a great series to follow like a Sarah J Maas series.
I read the first one and thought it was ok. Nothing wrong with giving it a try though and forming your own opinion.
It’s on my shelf
I flew through them. Loved it! There were parts I didn’t agree with or thought should go a different way it o really enjoyed them ?
Red queen, I’m sorry to say, is a colossal waste of not only time but paper too.
I did not like it
Prepare for the emotional roller coaster lol! ???
it’s really hit or miss. IMO, the first one was the best, but it only goes downhill from there.
I enjoyed the series. The first was my favorite, and it sometimes lagged, but I wouldn’t say it was awful or horrible. Give it a shot with a library copy and if you don’t like it, you’re not out anything.
Eh the first book is absolutely great but then it depends on you if you really like it or eh for me it got boring because my ship didn’t work (Marven anyone?) and well the main character was annoying
I really loved the series!
Waste of time. It was soooooo wordy and boring. I’ll eventually force myself to finish the last one just so I can say I finished the series. I just got the Audible hoping it would help me along.
I loved the first ones but by the end it was an absolute mess.
I loved all of them
I read a physical copy of the first book then listened to the Audiobook version of all the others on Scribd. I looooooved it!! Idk if I would have made it thru the whole series if I was reading the physical copies.
I think I am going to give it a go and hope I like it
@Michelle the first book is really good. The others a bit less, but still worth reading!
I loved them
Dont waste your time
I liked it alot. but definitely one that is hit and miss with others
I couldn’t finish that series. I could not get threw the 3rd book and I gave up
I connected really well with books and love them. I unfortunately haven’t had a chance to read the 4th book
Save yourself and don’t do it! The first three were so good, but the fourth was so strange it read like a bad fanfiction. However you have in your head that it should end is guaranteed to be more climatic and well thought out than the book was.
@Paige I thought it ended at the third till I found out about the fourth. The third one left me a sobbing mess ?
@Paige I’m still undecided on whether I want to leave it at the third or read the fourth as it’s sitting on my shelf
I was so disappointed in the 4th book it ruined the whole series for me. I ended up despising Mare and honestly harboring unhealthy anger toward Victoria Aveyard because of it lol.
@Paige damn ?
Yeah 100 pages from the end I had a meltdown and called my friend who had read it to ask if it got any better, her answer was no. I never could bring myself to finish it. It wasn’t even like a V. Roth move either, it was just the way it was written and the anticlimactic mess that was supposed to be the finale. If you love Mare you won’t enjoy this book because she is massively annoying throughout and makes decisions that are completely out of character. If you’ve read the House of Night books, she almost got Zoey level annoying bs.
@Paige ok thank you for the warning. I still love the series so I’ll be giving the first three a re-read but probs not the 4th
@Kiara didn’t like book 4 either. Absolutely disappointed by it all. I thought there’d be nice and happy ending, and it was such a unsatisfying ending. It regretted investing my time in it
My opinion waste of time but to each their own.
No. The first one was great and then it went downhill. I had to DNF it
I’ve only read the first one and I loved it
I didn’t feel strongly about it either way. Meh.
It was good up until the 4th book. I regretted reading it
I devoured this series!
I am going to jump in and say I loved it up until the 4th book. I read it about a month after its release and had heard a lot if negative things about it and I think I went in with the wrong attitude towards it because of the reviews.
My advice is to just read with an open mind. I plan on ready it once I finish the shatter me series to hopefully read it with more of an open mind
Love first book …not so much the others
Waste of time , first book good but others a MAJOR fail.
I really enjoyed it.
I love the series as a whole but I know people either love it or hate it.
I loved it, very different. Didn’t like the main character though.
I didn’t like it. If I could go back in time, I wouldn’t have even touched it. The last one was awful.
The concept is promising, but the execution isn’t really impressive. I’d say read only the first book.
I really loved it
Big yikes from me haha
I really loved it
i’ve only read the first book but so far so good!
LOVE Red Queen??
I loved all of them!!!
I loved it
