I have one side for each my keeps and the tbr then after I read I either put it in the keep or donate, and then there’s the stacks on my night stand ,my spare room coffee table and the three not sure shelves in my clubhouse,so I sorta got it together
One of these days I’m going to make the spare room a library ,I just can’t stop buying more there are so many thrift shops by my house that sell books for two dollars and under I buy anything that looks halfway good
Yes…my classics and antiques have top shelf…the next are my favorite series and everything else gets switched around by season. I like the nice covers in my living room…have some in my room…everything else on my bookcases in the attic
Normally doesn’t make it to the shelf till after I read. But if it goes on the shelf the its bind out so I know what it is. If its on the shelf and been read its bind in.
I shelve them when I bring them home from the store/get them delivered until I read them. Then I shelve them after I read them. About once a year I do a massive clean-out and then I’ll decide which books to keep and which to donate or give to friends. I made a big mistake with the KonMari process and got rid of some books I still needed. Then I had to find them and buy them again! Next time I do a book reorganization/donation, I’m going to be more careful!
I actually organize all my books by TBR and Read as well as by my ratings. This way I know that its a book I have read and whether I find it worth rereading/sharing.
Both. I have 8 bookcases full of unread books . And three boxes of unread books. They have to be signed by an author or a special favorite for me to keep them after I read them.
Both…the ones that have not been read are turned sideways on the bottom shelf of my bookcase – sometimes double rows – and the read ones go in order of when they were read on the other shelves.

Before… though I am trying to think of a new way to do this. ?
Me too @Heather, I have a couple neat piles, but have several sets of shelves loaded around the house. Wish I had a real library/room.

Both…always before I read. Sometimes after I read, but I am more likely to donate it or trade it after I have read it.
After
me too
Before.

I shelve them and as I read them I either put them back or if I think I won’t read it again I put it in a bag for the used book store to donate
Me too!
Before and after
My books have to be on shelves weather ive read them or not
Interesting that we have different habits. But it’s hard for me to part with a good book – even after having read it. So, on the shelves it goes.
Both and if I don’t like a book I get rid of it
I’ll get rid of books even if I liked them. It all depends on the likelihood of my rereading it.
I try to keep the classics
@Andrea, I’ve started collecting antique books – those I keep.
Yes. My shelves are half TBR and half favorites. If I were to separate them, I wouldn’t have enough space.
