So do I have to read Tower of Dawn before Kingdom of Ash? I’m five chapters in and I’m just not loving it…but I’ve never been a huge Chaol fan

I heard people were going on social media complaining that they wish they wouldn’t have skipped it because of the new characters introduced. But if you don’t like it, life is too short to force it.

It’s definitely better to read it before KoA

You really should read it before. And if you have reservations about it (like I did) try to put them aside. It really is a wonderful read.

You can read an online synopsis. Not that much happens to justify how long it is, imo. I almost dnf’d it multiple times. Should’ve been a novella at most.

YES. I know it’s a break from our regular schedule but it’s important and redeems some vital characters.
