And it’s a wonderful book
Love it and it’s my favorite book!
I suspect that since my late grandmother gave me her copy of this, it comes to mind as one of my favorite covers.
A very fun YA western, beautiful cover art!

The Lunar Chronicles covers are amazing,I love them???
Adventures of Sherlock Holmes.
I don’t really have a fav- kind of a mood reader – based on my interest @ the time? Lol- but this one intrigues me –
Right?! That one is awesome.

@Andrea I started reading it but too many library books arrived. I bought this one so put it on hold since I try to read the borrowed ones 1st. I think I need to start over. It was great…but I need to begin again. Thanks for recommending it my friend. ? The cover is indeed awesome!

By Hazel Gaynor
I love this cover.
All of Kate Morton’s books
She does have good covers! Looking forward to her new book.
Also, The Lake House is great!
I have to agree, Kate Morton is also a favorite of mine. Forgotten Garden hooked me.
@Jerilyn, Me too! Read it for book club several years ago. And then I went on to read all her books.
I love these!! Need!
Those are beautiful covers! I think my favorite of the covers is Mansfield Park. Having recently read it I think the girl depicted on the cover is a very good Fanny.
Is it the most artful book cover or the cover of one’s favorite book? Original wording not clear.
Your favorite cover or the end cover ( some have maps or something cool) so whatever you would like to share. 🙂
Great question! Looking forward to seeing everyone’s posts.
Also love this one!
best potter for sure
End paper: Sea Star, Orphan of Chincoteague by Marguerite Henry
Favorite book cover or cover of favorite book? I have a whole category on goodreads of beautiful book covers.
One of my favorite childhood books. The illustrations are beautiful.
What a beautiful cover! What year was this book published?
@Lynne the one I have was published in 1977. This is one of my favourite illustrations in the book.
Kimberly Gnoth, I can see why that is one of your favorites. It’s so lovely. What a treasure! And wonderful that you still have the book.
That’s a good book.
@Sarah I enjoyed it!
good little read
The end papers for the first edition were beautiful too.
This one was full of amazing images. A very visual writer!
Loved this book!
@June I haven’t read it yet! Thanks for the recommendation.
You’re welcome, Tarah! The sequels are also great!
An all time favorite!
Ok. I’ll stop hogging the feed!
I did! I did!
Yes! I’ve always thought this cover beautiful!
I love the look of the vintage paperback classics!
Always loved Garth Williams’ illustrations and covers for the Little House books.
Absolutely love Garth Williams illustrations! Such a talented artist!
I love just looking at this book. So wonderful.
Oh yes. I was surprised & thrilled to learn from TGAR ep 1 that Fitzgerald himself was inspired enough by this cover art to change a part of his text, evidently! Does anyone know what specific part of the novel it was?
Love Ruth Sanderson’s illustrations! She is so talented. Her book covers are always stunning.
Haruki Murakami book covers
Very creative covers!
@Lynne I gave away my copy of the set below. Probably my very favorite.
A great book!
Aw, thank you, @Marie.
This was my first favorite book.
I loved Nancy Drew stories!
Nancy Drew rocks! My favorite is the mystery of the hidden staircase which is number two in the series. I still have my copy from when I was a child and I reread it every once in a while.
I still have all my Nancy Drew books, too!
@Linda, How many do you have? And which are your favorites?
I think I needed 46 or so to complete the set when I was reading them throughout the 1960’s, but I only ended up with maybe 32? My favorite was definitely The Mystery of the Moss-Covered Mansion, but loved them all! By the time I was in junior high I had moved on to Agatha Christie. ?
My brother had the Hardy Boys. We read each other‘s books, and tried to outdo each other with completing our sets. I think he won and had the whole set by the time he got out of grade school.
Oh I will have to check out the moss covered mansion! Not sure I read that one. When I was a child the library I went to did not carry Nancy Drew books. Such a tragedy! Which is why I read the secret of hidden staircase over and over and over again because that was the one Nancy Drew I owned. When I got married and moved to another location… That library had the Nancy Drew books! So in my 20s I ended up catching up with all that I missed as a child. I remember the mystery of the 99 steps was the last one that was listed on the book jacket. I have been reading them from the library but occasionally will buy one if it’s the old-school cover. I have nine of the books now. And yes I do re-read them occasionally. They are my fun books!
I loved Blue Willow & Island of the Blue Dolphins.
The artwork in this book is gorgeous, but I love Middle Earth.
I haven’t read it but I love this old cover.
I love this cover too.
Hands down my favorite cover is this edition of Wuthering Heights
Perfect cover for this book! So very Gothic! I think Emily would approve.
I gave this edition to my niece for her future library. It’s vital that she fall in love with great books!
I know you shouldn’t judge a book by its cover… But this one looks fascinating! I will have to look it up! Thanks for posting.
My favorite hardback
@Kelley, Thanks for the heads up regarding the mini series! I love this book cover too.
It isn’t just the novel – it has to be the one with the Ernest Shepard illustrations.
My favorite book from childhood
Oh such a beautiful novel and the tv episodes too!
Read it first in 6th grade. Still read it every few years.
as i met it, in the remainder bin at waldenbooks. brilliant.
All books I have read in the last couple of years. Huge favorites for all of them. Great choices.
I also re-read these books so many times…I think The Secret Garden is my favorite…so magical!. And then there is always Little Women.
I just reread Heidi a couple of months ago. It had been a long time. It was so good! I remembered it being good but not quite that good! Loved the description of the Alps, grandfathers hut and Heidi’s love for the mountains. When we got to go to Switzerland years ago I was so excited because of the Heidi story.
Of the three you mentioned The Secret Garden is my favorite as well. Such an amazing book and such wonderful characters. Have you seen the musical? I absolutely love the songs in the musical. Also years ago I saw a ballet production of this book which was also extraordinary. You can’t go wrong with this story… It’s just so wonderful!
Heidi was always my favorite of the three. When my granddaughters were little, they loved it so much they would take turns pretending to be Heidi, Peter, and Clara and I could be the Grandfather! ?
Great book covers!! All about the gothic!
Duma Key by Stephen King
I was just thinking I want to reread this one soon.
My favorite book and movie
I just finished reading this book today. Loved the book and loved the cover
