TOG for sure. I think it would be harder in the other order simply because SJM started writing the ACOTAR series later in life, when her writing style was a heck of a lot more developed and it’s a more mature series in general
Throne of Glass is finished as a series and is phenomenal but a little slow to start. ACOTAR has more books to come and is more romance focussed but a little quicker to start.
It’s really down to what you want out of the series. ToG is my favourite of the two.
It’s a tough call! You got the people who love ACOTAR (I’m part of that persuasion) and then there’s the people who love ToG more. ACOTAR starts out a little more fairytale-ish and the first book is vastly different from the rest of the series and the main character changes throughout the series, like major dynamic character. The other book is about a kick ass heroine kicking ass! Both have great characters and great romances. I just relate to Feyre (acotar) and little more so then Celaena (ToG). But SJM is pretty awesome, so both are a good series. ToG is completed 100%, and ACOTAR is about to start a “new chapter” per say, same world, different POV character story for the rest. I still recommend ACTOAR! Ha ha! I read ToG first and never wanted to read the court books cause I never got a good vibe (thought it was political-ish/ from dealing with courts and blah blah blah) but they’re in my top five! Maybe my top….ha ha ha! Enjoy either way!
THRONE OF GLASS!!!!!!! I got it for Xmas last year and was super not excited but then by page 10 I was hooked for forever!!! Spent over 200 dollars on the whole series. I skipped the prequel tho. Started with the Throne of Glass not the Assassins Blade
Acotar. There is a very specific reason i say this. After reading Acotar I thought nothing, NOTHING, could live up to it. Then came ToG. It just got better. Trust me on this.
I honestly don’t think it really matters, they’re different series with different plots. I’m reading both at the same time just as a method of convenience
@Amy I don’t like The Raven Cycle much tbh. The Raven Boys was quite boring. And I absolutely hated Books 2 and 3 of Daughter Of Smoke And Bone!!! There was NOO emotional development!
ACOTAR!
ACOTAR!!! It’s the better series!
Throne of Glass
ToG is better!! ACoTaR is overrated
Throne of glass, didnt care for ACOTAR
@Holly same
TOG, its slower in comparison to ACO and you’ll find getting into TOG harder if you’ve read ACO series first.
ACO is my favoured series out of the two.
Read everything then keep your rest of your life for TOG. gonna hit you hard that one .
ACOTAR first
A court of thorns and roses
I would start with TOG. After that, move to ACOTAR
TOG
TOG for sure. I think it would be harder in the other order simply because SJM started writing the ACOTAR series later in life, when her writing style was a heck of a lot more developed and it’s a more mature series in general
acotar
TOG
Depends ACOTAR is a shorter series (3 books vs 7)
But in my opinion TOG is better overall
ToG
TOG if you prefer fantasy and world-building, ACOTAR if you prefer fantasy romance.
I liked ACOTAR better than TOG

It doesn’t matter honestly.
Throne of Glass definitely since it’s completed and then you won’t have to wait as longneck for the next ACOTAR book
A Court of Thorns and Roses.

@Patsy well tog still has that World of tog coming out

Throne of glass!!!
Acotar!!
Throne of glass
ToG
I would start with tog and after that acotr because tog got more action and is more badass and it made me even more fall in love with the acotr books
A Court of Thorns and Roses ?❤️??
ACOTAR ?
Acotar
ACOTAR ❤
ACOTAR!!!
ACOTAR for sure!
They’re both so good I feel like it doesn’t matter either way lol
Acotar has less books in the series, you’d probably be able to finish that faster and then read tog
ACOTAR
throne of glass
ACOTAR!!
TOG!!
I’d say ACOTAR first and TOG right after!❤️?❤️
ACOTAR 😉
ACOTAR!
I have to say tog only because I haven’t read the other one yet
Personally I prefer ToG. But ACOTAR is great too!
ToG!
ToG cuz I also haven’t read ACoTaR yet
@Eillib Ah u need to go read it right now! ?
@McKenzie Okay ?
Throne of Glass first. It is a very unforgettable and thrilling story. Sarah J. Maas is a fantastic author
U can’t lose either way. Both are spectacular. ToG is VERY complex & detailed as u get deeper into the series. Reading the last book? now.
Throne of Glass, ACOTAR is not worth it
I loveeee Throne of Glass but Acotar is just as good
Love them both but ACOTAR is by far the most amazing series I have ever read!!! 🙂
I personally think you should read ACOTAR first now having finished ToG. It makes a couple things more satisfying in this order IMO.
ACoTAR
I honestly don’t think it really matters, they’re different series with different plots. I’m reading both at the same time just as a method of convenience
? both at the same time!
Throne of Glass for sure!
ACOTAR starts better
Neither. Read The Raven Cycle series by Maggie Steifvater instead, or the Daughter of Smoke & Bone trilogy by Laini Taylor 🙂
@Amy I don’t like The Raven Cycle much tbh. The Raven Boys was quite boring. And I absolutely hated Books 2 and 3 of Daughter Of Smoke And Bone!!! There was NOO emotional development!
Haha clearly we have different tastes in books because I could barely get through the first ACOTAR book and I’m struggling to finish the TOG series 🙂
I haven’t read TOG yet. I LOVED ACOTAR, though!!!
Sarah J Maas’ books are fun, not quite intellectually challenging, but fun.
ACOTAR ?
ACOTAR is easier to get into but ToG is where it’s at. ToG has such amazing characters and story development
