Read this when it was one of the tv book club recommended reads. found it strange to begin with & then oddly addictive when I got the plot. A totally different type of writing and a different perspective on the world. I agree a must read x

i liked the book, read a while ago when it first came out. very disturbing to know this has and could happen to other children. i agree, it’s a must read.

Sad, inspiring, beautiful, upsetting, powerful, wonderful book! Totally befuddled my emotions! It’s like you are actually there in Jacks head! Experiencing it! The love, confusion, the innocence yet maturity!

been a while since i read but the book is written in the perspective of a young boy (Jack) who has never seen the outside world. Jack and his mom are held captive in a small room and she spends her days forming a strong bond with Jack while playing, learning, etc. the book is very emotional and shocking.
