The Hate U Give was a life-changing book for me. It was evocative and emotional and presented a narrative about present issues in a way that grabs the reader. I recommend it to everyone I know. When Breath Becomes Air is a beautiful memoir but it took me some time to get through. I think the author had an excellent writing style. I usually get bored with memoirs but this one was interesting throughout.

When Breath Becomes Air was overrated (imo). I preferred Atul Gawande’s Being Mortal.
Being Mortal was great and thought provoking.
