@Nina, I’ve seen the movie and enjoyed it, also the Broadway musical version which I liked but which didn’t get the greatest reviews, and especially enjoyed some high school productions of the musical. It’s delightful watching the student actors trying on the affectations of the period!

@Lorrie I am just this minute getting it going on my tablet!
In the book….I have just passed the part where his identity is revealed. I love it. Have to read a little at the time….eyes get tired and I’m old!

If you end up enjoying the book there are quite a few sequels.

What’s the deal with him? Is he like the European version of Zorro?

Sort of, yes. He is an English aristocrat during the French revolution and he rescues French nobility from the Revolution and the guillotine. He regularly runs rings around the French authorities. It’s quite fun.

I read this book and actually wasn’t a fan… I found it very forgettable and couldn’t really find anything to connect with, but I can totally see how people would love the action and love story!
