My grandmother said Jane Austin was hard to get into.

Amanda

I didn’t think so. But pride and Prejudice is a good start if you want to read more from her.

I have a collection of them. My mom likes the book Emma. So I might read that one next.

Can I just say, Collin Firth is a handsome man and I am so glad that he also played “Darcy” in Bridget Jones’ Diary?!

@Kristy the man is 28 years older then me, but that doesn’t stop me from having a crush on him. ?? My husband won’t watch any movies that he acts in with me. Lol

Kristy

I love Jane Austen. Even named my daughter Austen Elizabeth. Northanger Abbey is the shortest of all of them and I like it a lot.

I love that book so much!! If you like Audible, the one read by Rosamund Pike is FABULOUS. I want her to do all of them!! ❤️

@Keira I have that audible version and I completely agree. Rosamund Pike was great at narrating it.

Keira

@Casia OMG!! She did Sense and Sensibility!! That wasn’t available when I bought P&P!! Maybe she’s doing them all?!

1
Casia

@Keira oh man! I know where my next credit is going now! Can’t wait to see if she does Emma too.

1
Keira

@Casia She has to do them all. I would be so happy!! I loooooove her voice. And her Darcy. ?

Casia

@Keira I honestly loved her Darcy. I think it’s kind of funny how female narrators can do male voices fairly well whereas male narrators are hit and misses. In my opinion. Lol

1
Keira

@Casia I completely agree. On the Audible for my book, the narrator (the incomparable @Fiona) did the male lead SO sexy and perfectly. I literally cried when I heard it! I far prefer female narrators; it is rare that I’ll buy a book voiced by a man.

I’m the same with male narrators! I either love or loathe them

Keira

@Mackenzie Exactly!! I listened to one recently and I HATED him. He even mispronounced words!!

Mackenzie

Stephen Fry and Tom Hiddleston I can listen to read books all day. Also whoever voices the Game of Thrones books is pretty good too

1
Keira

@Mackenzie Those are two excellent exceptions!! Have you listened to Stephen Fry’s narration of The Picture of Dorian Grey? It is AMAZING. ?

0
Casia

Omg @Mackenzie Hiddleston is a good narrator??? Yay!

1
Mackenzie

@Keira no but I will now

1
Mackenzie

David Tennant is also excellent @Casia

@Mackenzie I think you’ll love it!!

He also does the James Bond books ?

1
Keira

@Mackenzie Annnnnnnd sold.

1
Mackenzie

Also the Wizards of Once, some Shakespeare and Chitty Chitty Bang Bang

1
Mackenzie

@Keira How to Train Your Dragon is the best

Keira

Also, it might take a little while to get used to her long, long run-on sentences, but I bet you’ll grow to love them. ❤️
