I don’t have anxiety but I feel very relaxed when I read & I kind of play the books out in my head while I read.

To an extent. Sometimes when my anxiety is bad I can’t even focus on the book enough to process what I’m reading, but if it’s just moderate then it is a great way for me to calm my nerves.

Yep. It activates the logical side of the brain, so then emotions can be more easily handled.

Puzzles help too, any kind, word, pictures, wooden, metal.

My husband’s boss taught him a trick for dealing with angry employees. He has them sit across from his desk and asks them to wait a few minutes while he finishes up an email or phone call.

On his desk is a bunch of wooden and metal puzzles, lol, blacksmith puzzles as they are sometimes called.

People inevitably grab one, and when trying to solve it, they calm down.

When they are calm, then he meets with them!

I read if emotions are taking over!
