Yes. If you’ve already seen the movie, be prepared for a totally different ending.

Loved it. I’m a big fan of his older work. Read Firestarter, it was good too.

@Sally-Ann like too gory or just bad ending? I have some of his books I love and can’t put down and then others that just go too far for my tastes

Sally-Ann

there is gore but not too vivid…. I think that was it for me… it stayed flat on the page it didn’t grip me. Can’t remember the ending…… hahaha think that says it all.

It’s been about 25 years, but yes. An emotionally devastating book.

It’s suspenseful, it’s sad, it’s emotional, it’s horrific, but it’s not supernatural. It’s plausible.

@Kris that’s why I liked it!

Fantastic novel, made even better for me was the fact King has no memory of writing it. With all his addictions he had at the time he cannot remember the process one bit. Still knocks it out the park when he was off his trumpet!

Very long ago I was maybe 9 or 10 and I just remember wondering if not vaccinating one’s pets was a thing in America and why. But it was not a King book that I enjoyed much and at the moment I am a bit uncertain if I bothered to finish it at all. I love IT though.
