What’s it about?

Jennifer

I’m getting ready to read it right now, and I’m a bit scared to do so. It’s about a creepy child and has left many of my friends scared to sleep with the lights off ?.

1
Heather

This is a newer book. Ive heard good & bad things about it so Ive got it on Hold at the library.

2
Heather

@Jennifer let us know what you think when you finish it. Ive got it on Hold but it wont be available til mid next month.

1
LeslieQuestion author

I think I’m gonna take the plunge and download it!

2
Jamie

@Leslie I didn’t love it. I wouldn’t consider it the scariest I’ve read either. Try The Fourth Monkey by JD Barker

1
LeslieQuestion author

@Jamie what’s it about?

I really liked the Shuddering. Bird Eater, Brother were also great!! You really cannot go wrong with any.

1
Heather

I looked on Goodreads. Seed & Brother both got the highest ratings but they were all pretty close. Both The Bird Eater & Seed were listed as prime books so I got Seed as my July prime book because I hadn’t used it yet. I’ve been reading sci-fi & my sons YA books this month so its time for a change.

2
Heather

@Nancy I had actually gotten the Bird Eater a long time ago on Kindle but hadnt read it yet.

1
Nancy

It is creeeeee-py!!

1
Heather

I started Seed & only 20% through it. Im totally creeped out. We’ve got a storm moving through now & my husband leaves to go out of town tomorrow night, so l’m regretting my book choice. Lol!

1
LeslieQuestion author

@Heather haha the baby teeth is getting good too!!

1
LeslieQuestion author

@Heather I actually am audio listening to seed today while I work. It’s pretty good! Especially since I’m from new Orleans but the narrator cannot do a cajun accent !

1
Nancy

@Leslie I just finished baby teeth. It was good.

1
LeslieQuestion author

@Nancy I’m on chapter 8 of seed right now and then I’m going back to baby teeth

1
Heather

@Leslie I have trouble with audio because I normally can’t focus on anything except the horrible voice! I had 5min left in the book & had company drive up!!! ? Im about to finish it right now.

0
LeslieQuestion author

Just watched a series on Netflix called The Killing and based on a Danish author and book. I am on the hunt, fantastic edge of your seat but in the meantime may I suggest, “Crime in the Neighborhood” and “Church of the Dead Girls”, they still haunt me.

You might enjoy this one… “When Harden Campbell wakes cold and beaten in a dirt-floor cell, he finds only three other things in the room with him: the mutilated body of his good friend, an ancient typewriter, and a stack of blank paper, the top sheet of which has a single, typed sentence. Tell me a story.”
Hardback options available from $1.32. All of Carter’s stuff is pretty gripping. I’d post a link to an interview I did with him, but some in here see that as self-promotion, which is a no-no.

Yes, I agree about Still Missing!

1

If you follow her page, you’ll see that she’s a gentle soul with a talent for comedy as well. She came to my local bookstore last year and we all asked her where her dark side came from and she just laughed and said she had no idea.
